Starting TTU O-lineman arrested on misdemeanor charges

One Texas Tech player found a constructive way to celebrate last Saturday’s blowout win over West Virginia, it seems.

Per multiple media outlets, starting Red Raiders offensive lineman Deveric Gallington was arrested on charges of misdemeanor public intoxication and disorderly conduct over the weekend after police were dispatched to break up a bar fight near campus early Sunday morning. In all, three people were arrested. Details of the fight, including who started it, are scarce, but there are no known reports of injuries stemming from the fight.

TTU spokesperson Blayne Beal said there has been no change in Gallington’s status for this Saturday’s game against TCU, meaning he will play against the Horned Frogs. Gallington was released from jail Sunday and faces more than $500 in fines.
