Pitt LB once again done for the season because of injury

Hit with a season-ending knee injury in 2010, Pitt linebacker Dan Mason has once again fallen short on his luck. Paul Chryst said Monday that Mason suffered a reported lacerated liver in Saturday’s blowout win over Temple. He’s officially done for the year.

It’s a terrible break for a player that worked hard to come back from the knee injury that looked at the time like it might have ended his career. This season, Mason has 27 tackles in just five games.

The good news is that Mason should be back for this upcoming spring practice.

Chryst added that linebacker Manny Williams and offensive lineman Ryan Schlieper would miss the season with an ACL and foot injuries, respectively.
