Beavers might be without Pac-12’s pick leader

As Oregon State looks to bounce back from its first loss of the season, they could be forced to do so without one of the top defensive backs in the country.

Cornerback Jordan Poyer suffered a knee injury late in the Beavers’ loss to Washington this past weekend. The PCL issue in his right knee has sidelined Poyer the past four practices and could very well keep him out of this weekend’s game against Arizona State.

A final decision on Poyer’s availability, head coach Mike Riley said, likely won’t be made until closer to game day, perhaps as late as a couple of hours before kickoff.

It would mark the first game of the senior’s career that he would miss if he’s a no-go.

Poyer is currently first in the Pac-12 and tied for second nationally with five interceptions.
