Iowa State (6-6) held on by its fingernails, losing five of its last seven games, nearly missing the postseason. Tulsa (10-3), meanwhile, became a dominant force in Conference USA and defeated Central Florida 33-27 in overtime to win the league’s title game.
Tulsa’s ground game – the nation’s 11th-best with three players (Trey Watts, Ja’Terian Douglas and Alex Singleton) all surpassing 750 yards – is going to drive the Cyclones crazy.
