Sooners DT Stacy McGee arrested on drunk-driving charge

Ummm, Merry Christmas?

Stacy McGee‘s 2012 season began with what turned out to be a six-game suspension. It will likely end with another suspension -- and the end of the talented defensive tackle’s Oklahoma career as well.

Multiple media outlets are reporting that the defensive lineman was charged very early Monday morning with driving under the influence. He was also hit with a charge of driving on a revoked/suspended license.

There have been no details released about the traffic stop that led to the charges, although the senior reportedly refused to submit to a breathalyzer test.

The school has yet to comment on McGee’s status for the Cotton Bowl, although it’d be surprising if he was anything but suspended yet again. Back in February, McGee was arrested on a marijuana possession charge.

McGee is the third Sooner to be arrested since the end of the 2012 regular season. Wide receiver Jalen Saunders and cornerback Cortez Johnson were charged with marijuana possession back in early December. Johnson, a transfer from Arizona, sat out this season to satisfy NCAA bylaws and wouldn’t have played in the bowl game anyway, while Saunders’ status for the postseason has yet to be addressed.
