For the second time the past couple of weeks, David Cutcliffe has seen an assistant on his coaching staff leave for another job.
The latest to depart is Ron Middleton, who the school confirmed has taken a position with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars. Middleton joined the Blue Devils in 2008 and carried the titles of associate head coach, special teams coordinator and tight ends coach.
There’s no immediate word on what position Middleton will be assuming with the NFL club, nor is there any indication as to when Cutcliffe will fill the latest coaching hole.
Late last month, Oregon announced the hiring of Matt Lubick as passing-game coordinator. Lubick had served as Duke’s wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator.
A replacement for Lubick has yet to be announced.
