Former Miami assistant Clint Hurtt also received a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA yesterday. Hurtt, a former Miami assistant from 2001-09, is reportedly accused of an ethical conduct charge (rule 10.1) for misleading investigators in the UM case.
Exactly what Hurtt’s fate is remains to be seen. He has until May 20 to formally respond to the allegations in front of the Committee on Infractions. Until then, UL athletic director Tom Jurich said there will be no change in Hurtt’s status -- again, as of right now. Jurich also maintains that Hurtt has not violated any NCAA rules while at Louisville.
“Clint is due his due process,” Jurich said. “I think that’s the only fair thing that we can do as a university. Clint’s side of the story is much different than the allegations are so I think we wait the 90 days and see how it unfolds then.”
Allegations against Hurtt in the Nevin Shapiro story from 2011 include arranging a trip for UM recruits to Shapiro’s mansion, as well as receiving a $5,000 loan from Shapiro.
