UK announced Monday that running back Justin Taylor (no relation, but pictured) has been granted a release from his scholarship. No reason for the departure was given, although the fact that he was buried deep on most unofficial depth charts is certainly a place to start looking for a reason.

After originally committing to Alabama his junior year of high school, Atlanta native suffered a knee injury and the Tide’s interest waned. Taylor, who did not play at all in 2012, went on to become a three-star member of the Wildcats’ 2012 recruiting class.
It’s being reported that Taylor could be headed to FCS-level South Carolina State, where he would be eligible to play immediately.
As for the Wolverines, a school spokesperson confirmed to mlive.com that linebacker Kaleb Ringer is transferring out of the program. Ringer hinted on his Twitter account that he may be transferring to Ferris State, where his brother Korey Ringer plays.
Ringer was an early enrollee last year but suffered a season-ending knee injury.
