Gators LB given deferral on battery charge

Just before (allegedly) punching a bouncer at a club earlier this month, Florida linebacker Antonio Morrison (allegedly) pulled out his finest Reese Witherspoon impression with the ol’ “Do you know who I am?” card.

Thanks to that, we are now all fully aware of who Morrison is. And we also know what punishment he’ll face for his misdemeanor battery charge.

Per David Jones of the USA Today, Morrison has been given a six month deferral. As part of the agreement, which was given the approval by the alleged victim, Morrison must do the following: Pay $100 to the state attorney’s office; donate $150 to CDS Family and Behavior Health Services in Gainesville or do 12 hours community service; complete a drug-alcohol abuse program; attend an anger management program; and do two ride alongs with University of Florida police for eight hours each.

Morrison must complete his tasks within the next six months.

There’s been no comment by UF as of yet, so it’s still not clear what Morrison’s status with the team is.

Morrison started three games last season as a true freshman and will be the starting middle linebacker entering summer camp.
