LSU running back Jeremy Hill was formally charged with simple battery earlier this week stemming from a bar fight in April. In his arraignment this morning, Hill pleaded guilty to that charge.
Per WBRZ, Hill has been sentenced to two years of unsupervised probation, and must pay $375 for the victim’s medical bills, write a letter of apology, and complete 50 hours of community service. Hill also gets a six-month suspended jail sentence.
Hill, LSU’s leading rusher in 2012 as a freshman, is currently serving an indefinite suspension after he and another assailant, Robert Bayardo, knocked a male victim unconscious during a fight in late April. Although a cell phone video showed Hill and Bayardo attacking the victim and high-fiving each other, Hill previously said he was not involved in the incident.
Hill was previously arrested on a felony charge of oral sexual battery involving a 14-year-old girl and later pleaded guilty to carnal knowledge of a juvenile, a misdemeanor. A hearing for that probation is scheduled to take place next month.
As LSU has not yet commented on Hill’s legal situation, it’s not clear what Hill’s future with the team is right now.
