Newly created Camellia Bowl will feature MAC, Sun Belt teams

We know. The thought of #MACtion and #SUNBEAST football on the same field is simply too much to handle.

But there will be more of it beginning in December, 2014. ESPN announced a newly-created bowl on Monday: the Camellia Bowl, which will be played in Montgomery, Ala. during the early portion of bowl season. The game will actually be one of nine bowl games to be owned and operated by the WWL beginning in 2014.

The MAC and Sun Belt currently compete in the GoDaddy Bowl in Mobile, Ala.

The 2013-14 season will feature 35 bowl game, and that number only figures to go up as conferences look for new opportunities to play in postseason games. The Big Ten and ACC will pair up in a bowl game put on by the Detroit Lions, and many of the current non-BCS conferences are looking at different locations to add bowl games.
