Hokies RB will ‘definitely’ be ready for ‘Bama

Final, some good news on the injury/personnel front for Virginia Tech.

J.C. Coleman, listed as a co-starter at running back on Tech’s most recent depth chart, has suffered a pair of ankle sprains — a left high-ankle sprain and a right ankle sprain -- several days ago. At the time myriad other injuries were announced by the Hokies medical staff, the prognosis on Coleman was that “we think he’ll be ready and back in time for the Alabama game.”

As far as Coleman is concerned, there’s no thinking, just doing.

Oh yeah, definitely,” Coleman said when asked if he will be healthy enough to play in the opener against the Tide.

While he’s yet to return to practice since suffering the twin ankle injuries last Wednesday, Coleman hopes that happens early next week. For now, Coleman proclaimed himself to be roughly 60-percent healthy.

Last season, Coleman led all Hokie running backs with 492 yards rushing.
