BYU indefinitely suspends starting LB Spencer Hadley

When BYU takes the field for its Holy War rivalry game Saturday, the Cougars won’t have one of its top defensive players in tow.

The athletic department announced Tuesday afternoon that linebacker Spencer Hadley has been indefinitely suspended from the football program. If you guess “unspecified violation of team rules” is behind the suspension, you were correct.

There was no statement from head coach Bronco Mendenhall included in the release.

Hadley is currently tied with All-American Kyle Van Noy for fourth on the team in tackles with 12 through two games. He started all 13 games in 2012, and started both games in 2013.
