Kansas loses starting receiver to appendectomy

For the third time in the last couple of months, Kansas has seen a player sidelined by an appendix issue.

This time, its starting wide receiver Tre’ Parmalee on the receiving end of an appendectomy that will cost him at least a week’s worth of playing time. Parmalee underwent the procedure Friday and will not play in the home game against Louisiana Tech Saturday afternoon.

The Jayhawks have a bye week next Saturday before opening up Big 12 play against Texas Tech Oct. 5, so Parmalee may be healed enough to return by then.

Parmalee’s three receptions for 30 yards are third on the Jayhawks through two games.
