2015 Buckeyes-Hokies game officially moved to Labor Day

A little over a month after one of the athletic directors revealed the change, the 2015 Ohio State-Virginia Tech game has officially made a prime holiday move.

The two schools announced Thursday that the game that year will be played Monday night, Sept. 7 -- Labor Day. The game in Blacksburg had originally been scheduled for Sept. 5 -- it was originally, originally scheduled for Sept. 26 -- but was moved for television considerations.

The two programs will also play in Columbus in 2014. That game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two football programs.

In addition to the confirmation of the Hokies game moving to Labor Day, the Buckeyes also announced a pair of additions to future non-conference schedules.

In 2015, OSU will play Hawaii (Sept. 12) and Western Michigan (Sept. 26). Obviously, both of those games will be played in Columbus, and will mark the first-ever meetings between the schools.

And, one final OSU-related scheduling note: the 2018 game against Cincinnati has been moved to Sept. 7, 2019.
