De’Anthony Thomas ‘should’ play against UCLA

Oregon running back De’Anthony Thomas told The Oregonian on Monday that he ‘should’ play against UCLA this coming Saturday.

Thomas has been bothered by an ankle sprain he suffered on the opening kickoff of Oregon’s game versus California on Sept. 28. He hasn’t carried the ball since the Ducks played Tennessee in week three.

“I’m ready. I’m hungry and ready to get back on the field,’’ Thomas told the paper.

Thomas, a junior, had 338 yards and 6 rushing touchdowns before getting hurt. Sophomore Byron Marshall has filled in admirably in his stead, notching four-straight 100-yard games since.

So it’s not like the Ducks have slowed down any without Thomas in the lineup. But now that Oregon is going up against the hard part of its schedule -- UCLA, Stanford, etc. -- Thomas will no doubt be a nice weapon to have.
