Michigan loses Joey Burzynski to torn ACL

Joey Burzynski‘s ascension to the starting lineup was a brief one, as it turns out.

Monday morning, Michigan head coach Brady Hoke announced that the offensive lineman suffered a torn ACL in the win over Indiana Saturday. As a result, Hoke said, the redshirt junior will be out for the remainder of the 2013 season.

Burzynski replaced Chris Bryant against the Hoosiers at left guard, making his first career start in the process. It was one of two changes Hoke made to his offensive line in an attempt to shake up what had been ineffective play along that unit.

Including this season, Burzynski has played in 22 games during his UM career.
