Myles Jack’s 3 TDs give UCLA halftime lead

UCLA’s linebacker-running back combo Myles Jack has been busy in the first half against Washington. A week after rushing for over 100 yards and a touchdown, Jack has rushed for three first half touchdowns to give the Bruins an early lead on the visiting Washington Huskies in Friday night Pac 12 action in the Rose Bowl. UCLA leads Washington 27-17 at the half.

Jack scored the first of his three rushing touchdowns just minutes in to the game, powering his way in from eight yards out. Jack would drag many defenders on his rushes in the first half. Jack’s next tow touchdown runs came from the one-yard line as he continues to prove to be a valuable short-yardage rushing option for UCLA.

UCLA built a 27-7 lead in the second quarter but Washington started to close the gap before halftime. Washington quarterback Keith Price threw a short touchdown pass to Jaydon Mickens midway through the second quarter and a 34-yard field goal by Travis Coons brought the Huskies within 10 points of the Bruins before halftime. Washington fumbled on the third play of the game to give UCLA early momentum, but the Huskies have battled back to take some momentum in to the half.

UCLA has faltered late in some big games earlier this season (Stanford, Oregon), so if the Huskies can keep the pressure on this one could have a wild finish.
