Ex-Cal QB Zach Kline transferring to Beavers

A couple of weeks after leaving Cal, Zach Kline has found a new football home. And, reportedly, the new home won’t require the quarterback to change his conference affiliation.

According to the Portland Tribune, Kline will, eventually, transfer to Oregon State. Kline recently informed the Beavers coaching staff of his intentions.

Those intentions, the paper reports, include spending the next two semesters at the JUCO level before officially moving on to OSU for the summer/fall semester next year.

Kline will still have to sit out the 2014 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules. He would be eligible to play for the Beavers in 2015.

Entering summer camp this past season, Kline was the presumptive front-runner for the starting quarterback job. Instead, true freshman Jared Goff got the nod, with the redshirt freshman Kline coming off the bench and appearing in seven games in 2013.
