Florida State RB Devonta Freeman heading to NFL Draft

While many players are coming back to Florida State in 2014, one running back will be taking a chance heading in to the NFL. Running back Devonta Freeman has made the decision to leave the Seminoles with a year of eligibility remaining and enter the 2014 NFL Draft.

According to a report by ESPN.com, the official announcement will be made Monday but freeman will hope his 1,000-yard season will be enough to make him an attractive running back option for some team in the NFL. According to the report, Freeman received an NFL Draft evaluation suggesting he is a potential third-round draft pick.

Freeman rushed for 1,016 yards and 14 touchdowns and added 278 receiving yards and a touchdown this season in an offense that split the carries and rushing duties between multiple players and saw a defensive back converted to running back along the way. Freeman averaged 5.6 yards per rushing attempt.
