Suspended license nets UGA’s Shaq Wiggins an arrest

Oh those wacky kids and their crazy failure to appears.

Georgia cornerback Shaq Wiggins, the Athens Banner-Herald is reporting, was arrested Sunday night for driving on a suspended license following a traffic stop. Wiggins was pulled over for speeding and, after his driver’s license was checked by an Athens-Clarke police officer, it was learned that it had been suspended.

The reason for the suspension, of course, was failure to appear in court on another matter.

The paper writes that “Wiggins... is unlikely to face any suspension for the arrest.” Instead, any punishment stemming from the incident would likely be handled internally by the football program.

A four-star member of UGA’s 2013 recruiting class, Wiggins started eight games as a true freshman this past season. His two interceptions were tops on the team.
