Indefinitely suspended following a mid-December arrest, Troy Hill is closing in on being back in good standing with the Oregon football program.
The cornerback, The Oregonian is reporting, pleaded guilty Friday to one count of misdemeanor menacing. Another count, that of criminal mischief, was dismissed.
The charges stemmed from a domestic incident last month in which Hill was originally charged with fourth-degree assault and strangulation, both of which are felonies. He was subsequently arraigned on the menacing and mischief charges.
As part of the plea agreement, the paper wrote, “Hill was sentenced to 36 months of probation to the court, $200 in fines, 70 hours of community service and three days served in jail, but the jail time was waived because of previous time served by Hill.” Additionally, he is “barred from making contact with the victim, a young woman court documents term as his girlfriend. “
Following his arrest, Hill was indefinitely suspended by the football program. That suspension is expected to be lifted in short order.
An Oregon source says Troy Hill will be reinstated to all team activities shortly, with the condition he abides by a "behavioral contract."

As a redshirt junior in 2013, Hill played in 11 games. He was suspended for the Civil War game against Oregon State for violating unspecified team rules, then missed the Ducks’ bowl game because of the arrest.
