CB Adoree’ Jackson adores USC; Rivals No. 6 player commits to Trojans

The Pac 12 has been having a pretty solid day in locking in some of the best talent around the country, and it got a little better with the announcement made by defensive back Adoree’ Jackson. The five-star defensive back from California will be staying in-state and joining USC.

Jackson is the nation’s top defensive back according to Rivals.com and the sixth best player overall according to the same rankings. He is also the top recruit in the state of California. His commitment to USC can not go understated in its importance for a program looking to get back to the top of the Pac 12, a conference that has improved immensely in recent years. USC’s defensive secondary was not the weakest spot on the roster on the field last season but there is no question adding the nation’s best at his position and throwing him in to the mix in the defensive backfield is going to be a huge addition to the program.

USC also added a four-star defensive back with Jonathan Lockett and added some more depth at the position with John Plattenburg out of Texas and Lamont Simmons from Florida in the Class of 2014. The Trojans also have added safety Uchenna Nwosu, which seems to show USC is focusing on improving the quality depth in the deep part of the field on defense.

In addition to USC, Jackson also held offers from Florida and LSU in the SEC as well as crosstown rival UCLA. Jackson going to UCLA would have been just as important of a signing for the Bruins as it will now be for the Trojans.
