Texas A&M has indefinitely suspended dual-threat quarterback Kenny Hill. Hill was arrested for public intoxication early Friday morning.
Whether or not Hill will be suspended for any playing time in the fall remains to be seen. For now, Hill will be kept out of all athletic activities according to Texas A&M policy, per a report by ESPN.com. That means the Aggies quarterback vying for the starting job this fall will miss practice time this spring for an undetermined amount of time.
Hill was taken into custody early Friday morning after being found laying outside a restaurant and bar in College Station. When asked who the current president of the United States was, Hill responded to police with “Bush.” Hill was released after posting bail Friday.
With Hill not able to practice with the rest of the Aggies, that opens the door a bit wider for other quarterbacks competing for the starting job. Matt Joeckel and Kyle Allen will likely lead a more drop-back style of offense in the meantime. Hill’s dual-threat ability was believed to make him stand out in the competition because he would be more likely to do some of the things on the field Johnny Manziel was able to do the past two seasons.
