I believe it was Run DMC who once opined “you talk too much, homeboy you never shut up.” While that was 30 or so years ago -- damn, I’m old -- it’s particularly relevant in the here and now, especially as it relates to Mark Emmert.
Coming off an embarrassing and disastrous interview on the Mike and Mike radio show, the NCAA president made an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show Monday morning, with the presumption being he could possibly atone for his tone-deaf remarks a week ago. If that was the goal, it failed miserably as the president -- the man paid handsomely to represent the interests of the universities and is flailing around miserably doing so -- stepped into it even deeper (derper?), watching as the public consensus continues to mount against the current NCAA athletic model.
