Jim Mora says get ready for more Myles Jack on offense in 2014

UCLA head coach Jim Mora says linebacker Myles Jack will continue to be used on offense this fall.

“He’s gonna touch the ball on offense,” Mora said Monday. “Don’t know how many times, but he’ll touch it.”

Jack became a bit of a household name for many college football fans last season more because of his production and contributions on offense rather than his defense. Jack was fourth on the team in rushing with 267 yards on 38 rushing attempts, but he muscled in seven touchdowns on the ground, second only to quarterback Brett Hundley’s 11 touchdown runs. Despite being a freshman, Jack was among the leaders on defense as well. By the end of the 2013 season Jack racked up 76 tackles, 10 more than one of the Pac-12’s best linebackers,UCLA’s Anthony Barr.

Mora’s comments came during an interview discussing UCLA’s involvement with a documentary series to air on Pac-12 Networks this fall, “The Drive.” Similar in concept to HBO’s “Hard Knocks” or Big Ten Network’s “The Journey,” “The Drive” will follow UCLA’s football team throughout the fall.

The network could not have picked a better team to follow either. UCLA offers the perfect blend of talented players, engaging personalities and intrigue heading into the 2014 season. With a couple of players who could be among the most discussed players in the nation between Jack and Hundley and with a chance to make a run at the Pac-12 championship game for the third time in four seasons, UCLA could be the most entertaining story in the Pac-12 this fall.
