On the same day Kansas (finally) announced the departure of quarterback Jake Heaps, the school also confirmed that wide receiver Andrew Turzilli was leaving as well.
Just three days later, it appears Turzilli has already found himself a landing spot.
Nj. com wrote Monday that “Rutgers is... expected to bolster its wide receiver depth by adding” Turzilli. Because he’s a graduate transfer, Turzilli will be eligible to play immediately in 2014 as the Scarlet Knights embark on their first season in the Big Ten.
The school cannot comment on the player’s status until he’s actually officially a part of the team.
Turzilli, a three-star member of KU’s 2010 recruiting class who was rated as the Noi. 29 player at any position in the state of New Jersey, started seven of the 24 games in which he played for the Jayhawks. He finishes the KU portion of his career with 27 receptions for 491 yards and two touchdowns.
