Mississippi State fans are known to make use of the cowbell, if you have not heard. Now that we know there is a world record for most cowbells at a single event, it should not take long for the Bulldogs to make a run at claiming the record, right?
The Portland Sea Dogs, a double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, claim to have set the world record for the largest cowbell ensemble with a total of 1,935 cowbells at a recent game. That’s cute, but the odds are not very good it will be lasting very long if Mississippi State has anything to say about it.
There would need to be some organizing to get the Guinness World Record people involved, but those in charge of confirming and certifying the world’s records is certainly open to attending college football games and doing their job on game day. Last fall Clemson took aim at the crowd noise record against Florida State. The record is currently held by the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks.
