Frosh Husker WR charged with pot possession, running from cops

And here I thought the good herb made you lazy and incapable of opening your eyelids fully let alone performing a physical act as taxing as running.

According to the Omaha World-Herald, though, Nebraska’s Jariah Tolbert was charged recently for an incident that occurred in the middle of last month. Per the World-Herald, the wide receiver was charged with possession of marijuana and obstructing a peace officer.

An arraignment on the charges is set for next week. From the paper:

Tolbert was cited and jailed after he ran from University of Nebraska-Lincoln police officers, according to a police report. Police reportedly received a call about someone smoking marijuana between two outdoor tennis courts near the intersections of 17th and Vine Streets.

It’s unknown what if any punishment the player may be facing from the football program.

Coming out of high school in New Orleans, Tolbert was a two-star member of the Cornhuskers’ 2014 recruiting class. He arrived on campus earlier this month.
