With rape charge dropped, 2014 signee back with Tulane

A serious legal issue this past April left Niguel “Teddy” Veal on the outside of the Tulane football program looking in. Another development in that case cleared the path for the 2014 signee’s return.

According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, a simple rape charge against Veal has been dropped. As a result, Veal has been reinstated to the Green Wave football team.

There was no word on what prompted the charges to be dropped.

An early enrollee who participated in spring practice, Veal was indefinitely suspended following his arrest four months ago.

Veal was the highest-rated player in the Green Wave’s 2014 recruiting class, and was expected to see significant playing time immediately. He is the younger brother of Alabama wide receiver Raheem Falkins, and his Tulane bio lists his legal guardian as “former LSU football standout Shrone Carey.
