Ex-UCLA DE eyeing Fresno St, San Diego St.

Kylie Fitts may have left UCLA earlier this week to continue his playing career elsewhere, but he may not be leaving the state of California to do it.

The Fresno Bee reported overnight that Fresno State has been granted a release by UCLA to contact Fitts. It’s also believed that San Diego State is a potential landing spot for the defensive end.

At both of those schools, Fitts would likely be forced to sit out the 2014 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules. Montana State is being mentioned as another transfer possibility; as that program plays at the FCS level, Fitts would be eligible immediately.

Fitts told the Bee in a text message that he wasn’t ready to discuss his football future.

Fitts was a four-star member of the Bruins’ 2013 recruiting class, rated as the No. 9 strongside defensive end in the country and the No. 10 player at any position in the state of California. He played in six games as a true freshman last season.
