Perfect Fitts: ex-UCLA DE transfers to Utes

A little less than three weeks after leaving UCLA, it seems as if Kylie Fitts has found a new football home. And, as it turns out, the player won’t have to shift any type of conference allegiance with the move.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Fitts “has elected to transfer from UCLA to Utah.” The defensive end will be forced to sit out the 2014 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules but will be eligible to play for the Utes in 2015. He will then have three years of eligibility remaining.

It was originally thought that the California native was looking to stay in the state, with Fresno State and San Diego State mentioned as the most likely landing spots.

Fitts was a four-star member of the Bruins’ 2013 recruiting class -- after originally committing to USC -- rated as the No. 9 strongside defensive end in the country and the No. 10 player at any position in the state of California. He played in six games as a true freshman last season.

At the time of his departure from UCLA, Fitts stated that it was “for personal reasons and nothing to do with depth or playing time issues.”
