Rami Hammad may have left Texas but he’ll apparently remain in the Big 12.
While the school has yet to confirm it, the player has as Hammad told ESPN.com Monday that he will be transferring to Baylor. Reports had just surfaced late last week that Hammad would be transferring from the Longhorns.
If the report comes to fruition, Hammad would be forced to sit out the 2014 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules. Beginning in 2015, he would then have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Hammad was a four-star member of the Longhorns’ 2013 recruiting class, rated as the No. 10 guard in the country and the No. 24 player at any position in the state of Texas. He didn’t play a s a true freshman, instead taking his redshirt.
