Report: LSU WR Travin Dural hurt in car wreck; status for Sat. unknown

One of the more unheralded stories in the first two weeks of the season may be forced into a one-week hiatus.

According to Glenn Guilbeau of the Baton Rouge Advertiser, Travin Dural was injured in an automobile accident late Saturday night, a few hours after the Tigers’ win over Sam Houston State. The good news is that the wide receiver suffered minor injuries, which seems to have consisted of stitches in his forehead.

The bad news is that Dural’s status for the game Saturday Louisiana-Monroe is up in the air as the player hasn’t participated in practice since the accident. Guilbeau also clarified on Twitter that the availability issue is related to the stitches and helmet rubbing up against them, not a concussion.

This season, Dural has been the epitome of the deep-threat in the passing game, catching six passes for 291 yards. That works out to an absurd 48.5 yards per catch.

Just as absurd? Four of Duval’s six receptions have gone for touchdowns, including one of 94 last week and one of 80 in the opener.
