The honor comes, of course, for Mississippi State’s 48-31 destruction of then-No. 6 Texas A&M immediately followed by Ole Miss stunning then-No. 3 Alabama, 23-17.

The win pushed both schools into a tie for third in this week’s AP poll. For Ole Miss, it’s the highest ranking since 1964. For Mississippi State, it’s the highest ranking....ever.

The downside? Neither schools gets enjoy their spoils of victory for long. Ole Miss visits No. 14 Texas A&M (9 p.m. ET, ESPN), while the Bulldogs host No. 2 Auburn (3:30 p.m. ET, CBS).
