Starting CB among two abruptly departing Wyoming

Two players who have started a significant number of Wyoming’s games in 2014 have decided to part ways with the football program, the Cowboys announced Monday.

According to a press release sent out by the school, cornerback DeAndre Jones and offensive tackle Nathan Leddige have decided to leave the team.. Other than “personal reasons,” no details on the abrupt twin departures were made available.

First-year head coach Craig Bohl said he would have no further comment on the two players’ decisions, the release stated.

Through at least the first month of the season, both were significant contributors.

Jones had started the first seven games of the year, but did not start this past weekend’s game against Colorado State because of a concussion suffered the week before. He did play in the loss to CSU, and is currently fifth on the team in tackles with 41.

Leddige, meanwhile, started the first four games of the season at left tackle before a concussion kept him out of the past four games. The fact that the lineman suffered a concussion roughly six weeks earlier during summer camp could very well have played a role in Leddige’s decision.
