For Notre Dame, the aftermath of Saturday’s 43-40 loss to Northwestern came with words like “inexcusable” and “that’s on me.” The loss was one of the worst defeats of the Brian Kelly era and sent Notre Dame careening out of both top 25 polls released Sunday.
On the visitor’s side, though, the elation of Northwestern’s win didn’t stop after players left the field. Hat-tip to Deadspin:
“AND WE GOT CHICK-FIL-A THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!”
While some of you may laugh at these players getting SUPER PUMPED over Chick-Fil-A, there isn’t one in Evanston. To get to the nearest Chick-Fil-A from Northwestern, you’d have to hop on the Purple Line, transfer to the Red Line at Belmont and take it all the way to downtown Chicago.
That’s not a short trip for fast food. So having Chick-Fil-A sitting there after such a big win? You bet these guys were happy.
