No Bedlam for Sooners QB Knight

Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight will miss the regular season finale against rival Oklahoma State. The starting quarterback for the Sooners will miss a third consecutive game as a result of a neck injury. Head coach Bob Stoops announced the latest injury status for his starting quarterback Monday during a weekly coaches conference call.

Without Knight, Oklahoma will keep running the offense through Cody Thomas under center. Tight end Blake Bell will be the team’s emergency quarterback, according to The Daily Oklahoman. Thomas struggled against Kansas last week, completing three of 13 pass attempts for 39 yards. The previous week against Texas Tech, Thomas was picked off three times while completing 10 of 20 pass attempts for 133 yards and a touchdown.

Knight was diagnosed with transient quadriplegia after being injured against Baylor. The neck injury has sidelined Knight for games against Texas Tech and Kansas.
