CSU QB shuts down rumors of team meeting

With a plane of Florida representatives, including athletics director Jeremy Foley, leaving Fort Collins, Colorado earlier today after a trip to meet with Colorado State head coach Jim McElwain, it seemed as though the writing was on the wall. Florida had made its pitch to McElwain to be the next head coach of the Gators, and by all accounts things looked promising for Florida.

By many accounts, it seems like McElwain to Florida is all but finalized, perhaps leaving time for the head coach of the Rams to address his players first before word breaks otherwise. That is certainly the respectful and decent thing to do when a coach accepts a new job. With Florida’s plane heading back to Gainesville, the rumor mill started spinning suggesting a team meeting was being scheduled at Colorado State so McElwain could say his good-byes to the Rams.

Colorado State quarterback Garrett Grayson took to Twitter to put any rumors to rest, saying this is not the case.

People, STOP believing all these STUPID reports that we’ve been called into a team meeting.

Don’t u think by now a player would have tweeted something if it was true? Good lord..

This does not mean McElwain to Florida is not happening. Only time will tell for sure. As of right now, there is no meeting that one of the top players on Colorado State’s roster is aware of.
