Oregon WR Devon Allen leaves field with knee injury

Already playing without top cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu and tight end Pharoah Brown, Oregon suffered yet another casualty for the Rose Bowl. Wide receiver/return man Devon Allen injured his right knee on the opening kickoff.

Allen immediately limped to the sideline, and ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi ruled him as doubtful for the rest of the game. The Ducks’ training staff then wrapped his knee and wheeled him to the locker room.

They’re wheeling Allen to the locker room. Doesn’t look good for the redshirt freshman.

The Phoenix native ranked second on the club with 41 grabs for 684 yards and led the team with seven touchdowns. He entered Thursday’s game averaging 27 yards on seven kickoff returns. Allen is also a member of Oregon’s track and field team.

Running back Byron Marshall returned the Ducks’ next kickoff after falling behind 3-0 in the first quarter. Oregon holds an 8-3 lead as of this writing.
