The college football world may be waiting for the decision from Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston, but defensive end Mario Edwards has made his decision. As suspected, Edwards will leave the Seminoles and declare for the NFL Draft. He is the second Seminole to declare early for the NFL Draft today, joining P.J. Williams.
Edwards was an All-ACC player and is sure to be drafted in one of the first two rounds of the 2015 NFL Draft this spring. Edwards was banged up at times this season, but when healthy he is generally one of the top defensive players in the game.
Edwards worked hard to trim down for the Rose Bowl to prepare for the athleticism and speed of the Oregon offense. Although that may not have mattered given the way the Ducks ran away with the game, it does help him get ready to hit the NFL Draft circuit for scouts and coaches scouting defensive ends leading up to the draft.
