Hokies TE Hodges busted for public intoxication

Virginia Tech tight end Bucky Hodges was booked and has been released from jail after being charged with public intoxication early Sunday morning.

Hodges was arrested around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning in Blacksburg by local police, according to a report from Andy Bitter of The Roanoke Times. Hodges was arrested in a parking lot outside an apartment complex. There has been no statement made regarding his status with the team as of yet, although given the timing of the offense and the severity of the crime it should not be expected there will be any significant impact on his eligibility. There is no report of any harm being done to any individuals or property, which means this arrest falls down pretty low on the scale of criminal activity.

Hodges had a fantastic freshman season for the Hokies in 2014. In his first season on the field in Blacksburg, Hodges led the team with seven touchdown receptions and was second on the team with 526 receiving yards.
