ESPN reportedly pulls Mark May off College Football Final

Mark May isn’t leaving your TV screens, but he is leaving “College Football Final” on ESPN.

According to Sports Business Daily, ESPN will shuffle its College Football studio lineup for the upcoming season with Adnan Virk, Joey Galloway and Danny Kanell hosting College Football Final. Mark May, who previously appeared on the show with Rece Davis and Lou Holtz, will be part of a college football studio show with John Saunders and former Texas coach Mack Brown, according to SBD.

May and Holtz became polarizing figures among college football fans over the years, especially May -- who often was accused of being biased and frequently delivered hot sports takes that riled up various fanbases. He was one of those guys everyone has a strong opinion on, and many of those opinions aren’t favorable to him.

While he’s still with ESPN, his brand of analysis won’t be as prominent as the network’s flagship late-night college football postgame show. Davis will begin hosting College Gameday this fall, while Holtz retired and mutually parted ways with ESPN back in April.

Galloway and Kanell have been featured on some of ESPN’s college football programming in the past, and both were fairly regular guests on the Paul Finebaum Show (and were often critical of the SEC, which led to some entertaining TV/radio).
