Michigan State left tackle Jack Conklin‘s left knee injury suffered last week may not be a season-ending injury, but the Spartans will keep Conklin out of action today against Purdue. Dan Murphy of ESPN.com says Conklin will not suit up today.
Conklin’s absence on the offensive line may not be a huge concern today with the Spartans more than capable of putting away Purdue in East Lansing with or without him, but it remains unknown just how long it will be until Conklin does get back on the field for Michigan State. Earlier this week Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio said he expects to have Conklin back in the starting line-up at some point this season. Protecting quarterback Connor Cook will be key to Michigan State’s big plans this season.
Michigan State plays Purdue today and Rutgers next week. A big game with an improved Michigan is coming up later this month in Ann Arbor on October 17.
