Michigan loses starting LB Mario Ojemudia for the season

Michigan’s defense has been playing very well, but now it must replace a starting linebacker. Mario Ojemudia will miss the rest fo the 2015 season after experiencing an Achilles tendon injury in Saturday’s road win at Maryland. Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed the news Monday morning, according to The Detroit News.

Ojemudia’s season ends at a time he was third on the team in tackles (19 total tackles), including six tackles for a loss and two sacks. Michigan has had senior Royce Jenkins-Stone listed behind Ojemudia on the depth chart at the team’s buck linebacker position. Lawrence Marshall, a sophomore, is listed third on the depth chart and will likely be bumped up on the depth chart to be the new back-up.

The play of Michigan’s defense has been nothing short of spectacular the last few weeks. The wolverines are coming off back-to-back shutouts and have allowed just 14 points since losing the season opener at Utah.
