Confused? Yeah, so were a lot of people a short time ago.
The soap opera began with Gary Patterson‘s appearance on SiriusXM earlier today. The host of the show, Chris Childers, subsequently tweeted out that the TCU head coach revealed that star wide receiver Josh Doctson would miss the remainder of the 2015 season because of a wrist injury sustained in last Saturday’s loss to Oklahoma State.
Uncertainty subsequently ensued as Childers himself tweeted that it was unclear what Patterson said when it came to Doctson’s status moving forward. And then the confirmations came rolling in: Not only is Doctson not out for the remainder of the season, it appears very likely that, barring a setback, the All-American candidate will see some playing time this weekend against Kansas.
In fact, the coach said as much on Twitter.
The source of the confusion appears to be the fact that Patterson spoke of the senior being gone at season’s end, which the host mistakenly heard as season-ending.
To his credit, Childers, a solid radio guy with a history of credibility, owned the mistake.
So, there you go. Doctson went from practicing earlier this week to out for the season to able to play this weekend, all in a span of less than an hour. Such is life in the Internet age.
