DeShaun Foster one of two hired to complete Kliff Kingsbury’s Tech staff

With one press release, Kliff Kingsbury has officially filled all of the holes in his Texas Tech coaching staff.

Tech confirmed in a release Wednesday night that DeShaun Foster and Karl Scott have been hired as Red Raider assistants. The former will serve as running backs coach, the latter cornerbacks coach.

Foster, an All-American running back at UCLA from 1998-2001, spent the last three years at his alma mater, the first two as a graduate assistant and the last as the Bruins’ director of player development & high school relations. He also had a seven-year NFL career after leaving the Bruins.

This will be Foster’s first on-field coaching job at any level of football.

Scott, meanwhile, spent the 2015 as the safeties coach at Louisiana Tech. That was his first job at the FBS level as his other stops have included Southeastern Louisiana (defensive coordinator, 2014; linebackers coach, 2012-13), Tusculum (defensive backs/linebackers, 2008-11) and Delta State (grad assistant, 2007).

“We are extremely excited to add Coach Scott and Coach Foster to our staff,” the head coach said in a statement. “They are both bright and energetic coaches and will be valuable additions to our program.”
