Blood clot issues force Ohio State’s Donovan Munger to end career

Health issues have once again brought a premature end to a college football player’s career.

Urban Meyer confirmed Wednesday that Donovan Munger will be forced to the sidelines permanently because of medical concerns over blood clots. Specifically, the Ohio State defensive tackle has been dealing with a pulmonary embolism issue since high school that medical personnel simply can’t get under control, at least not enough to allow him to play football.

Munger had sat out all of spring practice this year as he had hoped the issue would clear up.

Urban Meyer said Donovan Munger’s career is over due to a blood clot issue that’s plagued him since HS. Gave it yr to clear, didn’t happen.

Munger had played in 23 games the past two seasons, 12 in 2015 and 11 in 2014. In 2013, Munger took a redshirt after coming to the Buckeyes as a three-star signee.
