Recruit’s dad may have taken photo of Ohio State alternate uniform

It appears the cat has been let out of the bag when it comes to Ohio State going retro during the 2016 season. Maybe.

The father of 2017 five-star OSU commit Shaun Wade accompanied his son on a weekend recruiting visit to the Columbus. The elder Wade came across what could possibly be the alternate uniforms the Buckeyes will wear in 2016 -- or another year -- laying around the facilities, and snapped a photo of it that subsequently went viral.

Can confirm that this jersey (via @Bucknuts247) is Ohio State’s 2016 alternate uniform: pic.twitter.com/9icg7kKCpb

By most accounts, those appeared to be modeled after what’s being described as the Chic Harley-era uniforms donned by the three-time All-American and his teammates around the time of World War I.

While the school, obviously, has not confirmed these uniforms will be used at all -- and they could just be mockups -- 247Sports.com writes that, "[p]er Andrew Lind, who has a pretty good track record with sources at Nike, these will be the alternate uniforms for OSU in 2016.”

Then there’s this, from elevenwarriors.com:

But on the other hand, back in October 2014, sharp-eyed observers on a digital tour of Urban Meyer’s office discovered mockups of black Ohio State jerseys. At the time, some Buckeye fans considered it heresy. A year later, Ohio State donned black and crushed Penn State in the Shoe.

Regardless, I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see if OSU goes way back to the past for a future game.
