Chris Seisay goes from Oregon ‘penthouse’ to Portland St. ‘tree fort’

Not only did Chris Seisay transfer from the FBS and drop down to the FCS, he’s transferred to the other side of the ball as well.

A little over a week ago, Oregon confirmed that Seisay had been granted a release from his scholarship and would be transferring from the Ducks. Wednesday, Seisay showed up at a Portland State practice in full uniform, confirming his move to the FCS school.

With the Ducks, Seisay was a defensive back. With the Vikings, he’s already moved to wide receiver, a position he flourished in during his high school days in California.

Seisay will also experience a culture shock off the field when it comes to amenities and facilities, as brilliantly explained by PSU head coach Bruce Barnum.

“To go from that place to here, you better really love football,” Barnum said by way of oregonlive.com. “That’s a penthouse down there. This is more like a tree fort.”

Seisay started three of the 15 games in which he played in the Ducks’ 2014 run to the national championship game. He played in the first five games (two starts) of the 2015 season before an injury sidelined him for the remaining eight.

As a true freshman in 2013, Seisay, a three-star recruit, took a redshirt.
